Annie Leibovitz Notes

• Leibovitz, took her 1st pictures when her father, Samuel Leibovitz was stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. 

• She became interested in artistic endeavors and began to write and play music.

• She attended San Francisco Art Institute, where she studied painting. 

• She continued to develop her photography skills while working various jobs.

• When Annie returned to the U.S, she started her career as staff photographer, working for the launched Rolling Stone magazine. 

• Leibovitz was the 1st woman to photograph Joan Armatrading for an album.
